there are no evident limitations in LED product development except for MMA supply

Recently, a Taiwan panel maker’s monthly shipment ratios of LED TV and monitor panel have exceeded 15% and 20% respectively; furthermore, LED monitor BLU shipment of top-tier BLU makers were close to 30% of all. Nevertheless, 1H10 CCFL panel shipment was relatively high; inventory closeout was thereby the top priority among downstream SIs, brand vendors and retail channels. Therefore, even if the shipment ratios of led high bay light and BLU were surging, it took a great amount of time to increase the distribution rate in retail markets.

Lastly, the above-listed restrictions including prices, designs, costs and supplies, are estimated to be ruled out one by one in a year. Looking into 2011, there are no evident limitations in LED product development except for MMA supply, the raw material of LGP. Thus, according to WitsView, LED TV and monitor penetration rates are forecast to reach 44.8% and 38.2% individually amid the positive perspective for 2011.

LEDs provides light distribution that meets street lighting requirements

With the two semiconductors working together, local governments have an opportunity to achieve significant cost savings.Apart from their long life, another benefit of LEDs for street lighting is their directed light. It shines precisely where it is required, so less LED Linear high bay light is needlessly scattered. Overall, less light has to be produced in order to illuminate the road properly. By additionally adjusting the luminaires with the aid of digital brightness sensors, electricity consumption is reduced even more in comparison with conventional lighting solutions and the LEDs’ operating life is increased at the same time.

The Arquicity design street luminaire is also characterised by the low installation work required, so conventional luminaires can be replaced without a problem. The compact luminaire head in combination with the optimised directional characteristics of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors’ LEDs provides light distribution that meets street lighting requirements. This also improves safety for road users.Rainer Friedrichs, Marketing Director at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, explains, “More than 4,000 Arquicity lamps in various projects already provide proof of how efficient state-of-the-art street lighting can be. Intelligent light management is made possible by coordinating the interaction of light sources and sensors based on semiconductors.

Thanks to accelerating replacements for traditional lamps with LED lamps, Fan said the firm's sales in mainland China for the first half of this year kept the same level as recorded for the whole 2009.He made this conclusion mainly on the company's planned additional led high bay light by the end of this year. The company is now operating seven of the machines to make LED epitaxy wafers.

the pleadings to determine if jurisdictional facts exist

Rothschild previously filed a patent lawsuit against Cree in the United States District court in District D of Massachusetts. Rothschild alleged that Cree violated its '618 Patent and '499 Patent. The led high bay light is entitled "Process for Doping Crystals of Wide Band Gap Semiconductors". The '499 Patent is entitled "Wide Band Gap Semiconductors Having Low Bipolar Resistivity and Method of Formation".

Cree filed a motion to dismiss for lack of standing based on the argument that Rothschild conceived of the invention while employed at Philips Lumileds Lighting Company L.L.C., making Philips the rightful owner of the patent. In a motion to dismiss, the court may look outside the pleadings to determine if jurisdictional facts exist.

Philips however previously settled with Rothschild. Under the terms of the settlement Philips agreed to abandoned and relinquished any claim to right, title, interest in or ownership of the.

For this reason Cree's motion to dismiss was denied. Cree's motion for summary judgement of patent invalidity was also denied. Rothschild made several motions for partial summary judgement about various assertions and claims of the patents. All of these were denied.

In 20 of the 21 processes discussed in Cree's motion for summary judgement the Judge ruled that the GaN layer was epitaxially grown and therefore not a substrate. The key issue in the case may come down to whether the AlGaN layer falls within the definition of substrate. If the LED high bay lighting is ruled to be a substrate then Cree would likely be found to infringe Rothschild's patent. If not, there Cree would not be found to infringe Rothchild's patent. There is no word yet on when the jury trial will commence.

While LED lights are completely safe and have no harmful elements like mercury

Dimming incandescent or halogen lights provide direct advantages both for aesthetics and the environment. Besides the setting controls, dimming lights by twenty percent reduces energy consumption at roughly equal value. The life of the bulb also extends up to four times when dimmed 20%. Added life and reduced energy both help the environment, but solid LED linear high bay light and dimming technology have traveled different paths.

Fluorescent lights do not dim and often contain a warning on the package to not use the products on a dimming system. Dimming a CFL can cause serious damage to a product that contains mercury. This presents a potential environmental hazard in your home or business. While LED lights are completely safe and have no harmful elements like mercury, most are not dimmable. Because LED lights are a significant investment, it is important to ensure the lights you buy will work on your dimming system. Some manufacturers claim to have dimmable LED lighting solutions. All too often, consumers spend hundreds of dollars on a LED lights only to find out later that the products do not work on US dimming systems.

YAHAM Lighting LED dimmable solutions last for 50,000 hours, retrofit standard fixtures at a fraction of the energy usage, and utilize the most updated dimming technology in the industry. Dimming does not result in a loss of efficiency. During dimming, the LEDs are still operated at the same voltage and current as during full light output. In addition, lamp life is not affected by dimming, as is sometimes the case with frequently dimmed fluorescent lighting. Rather, dimming LEDs may lengthen the useful life of led high bay light, because dimming can reduce operating temperatures inside the light source. Our products are the highest quality, do not flicker and do not produce harmonic distortion on most standard dimming systems.

the issue of hot spot when reducing the number of LEDs

Compared to the price of a CCFL backlight module, which has already hit the price floor, the price of a LED monitor backlight module is the biggest obstacle when it comes to promotion. With cost reduction as an objective, manufacturers will start by changing the configuration of the light bar and LED lights in the new design. First, the mainstream 3020 low-power LEDs will be replaced with 5630 mid-power LEDs; under the same luminous flux, higher luminous efficacy significantly reduces the number of LEDs needed. In the new design, a single light bar is configured on the short side, compared with the existing design of a single or double light bar on the long side, and the cost is reduced from shortened length of the light bar. Furthermore, the shorter distance also effectively prevents the issue of hot spot when reducing the number of LEDs.

LED lighting is better for the environment because it consumes less energy than traditional light options

The BCR320 products are designed for a peak output current of up to 300mA. For continuous operation a maximum nominal current of 250mA is recommended. While this device has an internal breakdown voltage of typically 20V, it can be operated at supply voltages of 24V or higher since the driver is operated in series with the LEDs. The led high bay light is targeted at general lighting, architectural and mood lighting applications. Another fast growing segment is shop lighting where 0.5W LEDs are preferred in order to spread the light and avoid glare.

The BCR420 products have a higher internal breakdown voltage and a lower output current than the BCR320 devices. The internal breakdown voltage is typically 50V and the nominal output current is 150mA. The BCR420 LED drivers are intended for use in similar applications as mentioned above for a maximum drive current of 150mA.

At the company's headquarters in Montreal, Canlyte engineers were tasked with developing two types of products; indoor lighting using remote phosphor technology and LED technology used in the creation of high-end optical products for exterior lighting. These patented innovations required a controlled assembly line to ensure the elimination of contaminants and static electricity that could affect product quality and performance. To that end, Canlyte built its own Clean Room.

Canlyte plans to double annual production over the next several years, thanks in large part to steady demand in the US export market. But there are benefits beyond return on investment. For instance, LED lighting is better for the environment because it consumes less energy than traditional light options. Companies save on their electricity bills, use premium quality, patented products that can be adapted to their needs, and can take pride in investing in products that are made in Quebec, by Quebecois.

LEDs were advancing very quickly

OGM was founded in Austin, Texas, in November 2002 with the mission to bring environmentally friendly, energy efficient technologies to the marine industry. "We initially looked at fuel cell technology and LEDs," said Meghan Matthews, OGM's cofounder and CEO, "but our research found that LED technology was developing much more rapidly than fuel cells, which has several obstacles yet to overcome. LEDs were advancing very quickly and in 2002, the reds, greens and whites were already primed for specific niche applications such as marine navigation lighting.

To encourage environmental awareness, OGM will migrate its plastic clamshell packaging to a more eco-friendly reusable packaging, aptly named Orca Green LED Lite EcoPacs. "Our first introduction of the EcoPac packaging concept was to bundle our set of LED Navigation lights in a canvas LLBean BoatTote and give a percentage of the sale to non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving our waterways," says Matthews. "But we decided to go one step further and make this commitment to reusable packaging a part of all our products going forward."

Orca Green will continue to examine its supply chain to reduce waste, investing in eco-friendly packaging, bundling and using recycled or reusable containers and other energy conservation products to offer a full solution to its growing number of customers. In the coming weeks, led high bay light will announce several new product offerings, each packaged in a reusable container ranging from lunch bags to stainless steel containers or coolers, all with an emphasis on "boater-reusable."

other facilities at its Rayong factory to produce the LED

Chuck Swoboda demonstrated an A-lamp LED light bulb with the highest lumen output and efficacy reported in the industry. The bulb produces 969 lumens at an impressive 102 lumens per watt, which is the light output equivalent to a 65-watt incandescent bulb, yet it uses only 9.5 watts. The demonstration A-19-style bulb features the latest Cree production XLamp(R) XP-G LEDs and TrueWhite Technology, a patented method of delivering warm-white light with superior color rendering and efficiency. It delivers a 2800 K warm-white light with a 91 CRI. All data was verified by third-party testing under steady-state operating conditions.

The company will spend about 200 million baht next year on molds, a clean room and other facilities at its Rayong factory to produce the LED and LCD sets locally, said Heegol Lee, general marketing manager for home entertainment at LG Electronics (Thailand) Co. Exports will account for about 25 percent of total output. Another 340 million baht will be spent locally next year on promoting LG televisions, with a focus on LCD sets.

Overall demand for televisions shrank by 4.3 percent over the first eight months of the year. But demand for plasma TVs grew by 40 percent in the period and the LCD segment surged by 80 percent, while demand for conventional and flat-screen sets slid. LED units currently account for just 2 percent of sales, but this is forecast to rise to 20 percent next year.

LED TVs has caused severe supply constraint

Taiwan-based LED chipmaker, recently said it is seeking to acquire its local rival Ubilux to expand its output of led high bay light for panel backlighting, according to an article on Taipei Times. The acquisition will make Tyntek Taiwan’s third-largest LED chipmaker, after Epistar Corp and Optotech Corp, the report said.

Tyntek said its board has approved a proposal to acquire Ubilux, a LED arm of Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. According to Tyntek, the acquisition will be conducted through a share swap, and one Tyntek share will be exchanged for 1.375 Ubilux shares. Tyntek will issue 88.07 million new common shares for Ubliux shareholders, making the deal worth about NT$2.81 billion (US$86.8 million). After the acquisition, Powerchip will become the biggest shareholder at Tyntek. The deal is scheduled to close on March 1.

The Hsinchu-based company hopes to build a stronger presence in the booming LED backlight sector, as growing demand for LED TVs has caused severe supply constraint. Tyntek aims to increase its MOCVD tool, which is used to make LED chips, from six units at present to 30 units by the end of next year. This would help generate at least NT$800 million in revenue next year and another NT$2.5 billion in 2011, the company said.

Nu Horizons currently distributes Sharp's electronic components in North America. The new deal marks the distributor's first major LED, optoelectronics and display module franchise in European markets. Nu Horizons will have rights to distribute Sharp Microelectronics' lines of optoelectronics, LEDs, laser diodes, CMOS image sensors, power supply devices and RF components in the UK and Nordic region, plus Sharp's LCD module range in the Nordic region only. In Nordic, Nu Horizons trades as C-88 AS.

the most accurate luminosity of light from the LED

LED current levels in less than 2usec, enabling more accurate color mixing in RGB applications. LED current accuracy of +6% is maintained in order to ensure the most accurate luminosity of light from the LED.

Optimized for single-cell Li-ion battery applications, each part in this new platform is packaged in ultra-thin (0.6mm max.) 14-pin 2x2mm MLPQ package to provide the industry’s smallest solution in reliable and easy-to-handle plastic packaging.

Each member of the SC65x family integrates a high-efficiency charge pump, multiple low-dropout current sink regulators, and the proprietary one-wire SemPulse interface. The mAhXLife charge pump monitors each led high bay light forward voltage and automatically selects between 1x, 1.5x and 2x modes to optimize efficiency as the battery voltage changes over time. The low-dropout current sink regulators provide LED current matching of 0.5% typical to ensure accurate and even illumination. LED current may be adjusted from 0mA to 25mA in 29 settings via the one-wire SemPulse interface.

In many modern handheld systems, the usual I²C serial bus is becoming over-burdened with too many slave ICs. In such cases, the SemPulse interface is highly preferred because it provides a simple means of programming many features while consuming only one GPIO on the baseband or applications/graphics processor. The interface is simple, robust, and very tolerant of sloppy timing caused by interrupts elsewhere in the system.

This is a multi-purpose infrared LED light

A three position toggle switch controller enables the operator to switch from continuous operation to beaconing to off. Thus, soldiers can use the LED10W-1SS-IR as a short range spotlight or floodlight in one mode and a long range LED IR beacon in another mode. The 100 pound grip magnetic base will stick to any steel surface, including vehicles and equipment. An 8 foot cord links the IR beacon to the controller and another 8 foot cord brings power to the controller from the cigarette plug. The infrared LED strobe light with magnetic base operates on any voltage ranging from 9 to 50 volts DC. Initially designed and built for the US military, the Magnalight IR beacon is Buy American Compliant and completely assembled in the USA.

“This is a multi-purpose infrared LED light,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics. “Typically, LED lights are separated into two distinct functions, illumination or strobing beacons. The led high bay light combines both into a small unit, with the LED head measuring 2 inches square. The entire unit is less than 5 inches tall and is lightweight. The 100 pound grip magnetic base will hold this small, lightweight unit to any steel surface easily and the IR led light can be removed and put away when not needed. Within this small form factor, is both a short range IR flood light and a long range IR flashing beacon. Thus, operators can use this infrared LED light to illuminate areas to 30 feet with non-visible lighting or they can use it as a directional IR beacon to notify other operators miles away. It draws only ? amp on 12 volts, so its current draw is minimal and the unit is IP67 rated, being both dust proof and water proof.”

King County tested luminaires from two manufacturers on a two-block section of road in Redmond, Wash. While the county's Senior Signal and Illumination Design Engineer Linda Mott says in the article that she was pleased with the "clean crisp light" provided by the luminaires, a report on the pilot test found that neither LED fixture provided light levels within 10 percent of the HPS lamps, the criterion set by the county's traffic engineering division. Mott called the results "pretty disappointing. As a special event this year, the Organizing Committee will also work together with NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) to establish the Green IT Pavilion to introduce the latest leading‐edge energy conservation technologies of Japan such as vehicles powered by fuel cells and wind‐generated power.

their message to the International Space Station as it passed over Calgary

Canada to help a team of 600 students send an LED illuminated message to the International Space Station as it passes overhead. On September 19th, 2009, in the dark of night, the students gathered in a remote field to send their message to the International Space Station as it passed over Calgary, 300 km (186 miles) above the earth’s surface.

Bob Thirsk, a Canadian astronaut and Schulich School of Engineering graduate, is on a six-month mission with the International Space Station. Using the LED lights provided by Osram, students communicated with Thirsk via their light message to express their support for him and his crewmates on their voyage. Using Osram’s donation of 300 units (boards), each containing 4 new OSLON high brightness LEDs, the students delivered their message with an estimated total brightness of 400 lumens per board = ~120,000 lumens. Each board uses two 9V batteries and contains a simple switch allowing the students to manually flash the LEDS to send a signal to the space station.

“We wanted the students to have free range of expression and provided LED units which can be arranged in a multitude of ways enabling the students to send their unique, illuminated message to the international space station,” said Tom Shottes, President and CEO of Osram Opto Semiconductors, Inc.. “We are just thrilled to be part of this inspiring event and to support the engineers of the future in reaching their goals, however far reaching they may be.”

the remainder being used for general corporate purposes

Murata Electronics North America, an innovator in electronics and the largest global supplier of ceramic passive components, recently introduced an anti-fuse element for light emitting diodes (LEDs). Developed to control open defects in LEDs, Murata's anti-fuse device prevents the lowering of power supply voltage, typically observed in Zener diodes, which results in higher energy efficiency. Other key benefits include a simple and economical circuit design, the reduction of color unevenness and small size.

Reduced power consumption is one of the main reasons LED lighting fixtures are in demand. However, LEDs are typically connected in series and therefore are at risk of failure if a single LED becomes open. The solution is to re-route current flow around the open LED. Murata's new anti-fuse element is connected in parallel to a serial LED, allowing each LED to stay lit should one become open. This allows for uninterrupted and even light, reduced maintenance costs and increased energy efficiency. The company's anti-fuse element can be used in all LED lighting fixtures and is especially well suited for large outdoor lights that generally require more maintenance. The allowable current is 350mA with a nominal voltage of 4V and a trigger voltage of 20V. Before activation, the insulating resistance is 1MΩ and the resistance after activation is less than 3Ω. This new product is available in sample quantities for 40 cents and lead times are approximately eight to 10 weeks starting January 2010.

The offering includes a 30-day option for the underwriters to purchase up to 1,650,000 additional shares to cover overallotments, if any. Cree is conducting the offering pursuant to an effective registration statement under the Securities Act of 1933. The offering is expected to be completed on September 16, 2009, subject to customary closing conditions.Cree intends to use the proceeds from the offering for anticipated capital expenditures of approximately $150 million in fiscal year 2010 and additional future capital expenditure needs with the remainder being used for general corporate purposes, including working capital and potential strategic investments.Morgan Securities Inc. was the sole book-running manager for the offering, BofA Merrill Lynch was the lead manager, and Piper Jaffray, Morgan Keegan, Oppenheimer and America's Growth Capital acted as co-managers.

Installation was completed just in time for last Christmas

We tried a Selador fixture and discovered it did a great job of meeting the design parameters. The decrease in complexity was also a benefit to the church to keep maintenance requirements minimal”, said Howard Case, the church's capital projects manager. And due to Selador's unique seven-color LED design, the fixtures were able to match the color temperature of existing lighting. The Selador units provide a wide range of spread lenses to meet the designer's needs. We ended up with one two-foot unit per column and rib with two high-power units at the spring points of the proscenium arch. ETC’s Unison? architectural dimming with LCD control panels provides centralized control over the lighting system and offers the ability to easily expand the system in the future.”

Installation was completed just in time for last Christmas, when the new architectural lighting enhancements would be revealed for the first time. Case describes the moment: “We created looks for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which incorporated red and green. The reaction of people when they walked into the church, where the dome over the sanctuary and all of the upper pilasters were lit for the first time (and not just lit, but with Christmas colors) was pretty amazing. The Q-200 can last 30,000~50,000 hours comparing with around 5,000 hours for conventional desk lights. It is specifically designed to enhance learning and concentration capability of the users by applying lab-proven color temperatures of LED for each area of subjects they study such as science and liberal arts.

LED's long lifetime performance requires careful design

LEDs are inherently durable and long-lasting components. However, achieving the LED's long lifetime performance requires careful design and testing of the electronic power and control systems and the thermal network. The extensive characterization and reliability testing that OptoElectronix incorporates into every product is the result of its extensive experience in LED and semiconductor technology product development and manufacturing.OptoElectronix estimates that the solid-state lighting (SSL) light engine market, which includes the LEDs, thermal network, power driver circuitry, and optics -- all incorporated into one module -- will be approximately $5.516 billion in 2012.

The application circuit with BCR 450 has low component count and is free of inductors, capacitors and free-wheeling diode resulting in a very small PCB space requirement. This includes the elimination of electrolytic capacitors which limit the lifetime of switch-mode driver solutions. Infineon also implemented an effective thermal shut down feature and over-voltage as well as over-current protection into the device.

Additionally, the BCR 450 with its output current precision varying only +/-10 percent over the entire operating temperature range strongly supports the homogenous light output requirement for LED lighting fixtures. The world’s largest semiconductor maker has undergone a worst profit drop in seven years in the global recession. Chang said that the company could start out first purchasing a small company, and use that as a nucleus for growth. The company is considering buying companies in solar and LED sections. Chang didn’t identify any acquisition targets or specify investment amounts.

the low profile laydown style

The LED Vantage ?, contains sophisticated processors and regulators to ensure that the color and power of the light remains consistent, according to the company. The LED Vantage is custom made to fit inside of any showcase and is secured to the case using Econo-Lite’s patented spring loaded technology which allows installation in just a few minutes.

The new Genesis II LED Tail lights are unique due to their oval board shape which features 120 second generation Genesis LEDs, according to the company. The unique shape allows the board to be set deep inside the reflector to give the maximum light output. The Lights are avaliable in mutiple models including a smoked or red lens as well as the stock squareback style or the low profile laydown style.

The company also offers the option of a black reflecter as opposed to a chrome reflecter on the smoked laydown models. This feature provides a blacked out effect that looks more natural, especially on black and silver bikes, than a stock taill light does.

The new Genesis? II LED product line is not limited to Harley Davidsons?, it will also include Metric, Sportbike and Goldwing? motorcycle products. These units have a suggested retail price of $139.95 and $149.95 depending on the model.

Both luncheons individually attracted a packed house of attendees.

Evluma developed the new wide optic version of the 40W Clearlight as a companion to its existing narrow optic, or lambertian luminaire. Both luminaries are designed for use in 50-175W Mercury Vapor (MV), or 70-150W High Pressure Sodium (HPS) mogul base, dusk-till-dawn fixtures. With peak intensity vertical angle of 0o, the narrow optic Clearlight is recommended for areas over doorways or loading docks where more light is required directly under the fixture. The wide optic is recommended for parking lots and roadways, anywhere lighting design dictates an even wash of light, says the company.

The Clearlight contains no mercury, and is dark-sky friendly with full cut off; the highest percentage of lamp lumens falling in the 0o-60o zone for both models. With an overall projected life-time well beyond an L70 of 70,000 hours, the Clearlight requires very little maintenance compared to legacy HPS and MV, according to the company. Evluma distributors are currently taking orders for the new Clearlight 40W Wide Optic LED luminaries with stock available mid-August, 2009.

Neither of the new LED lamps contains lead or mercury

Just like its 10-watt cousin, the GE 7-watt LED lamp helps customers excel at cutting energy costs. It reduces energy consumption by 77 percent when compared with standard 30-watt incandescent R20 reflectors and, if you can reduce your light levels, you can save even more compared with halogen 50-watt PAR20 lamps over 20,000 hours. The 7-watt GE LED lamps have a 20,000-hour rated life to 70 percent of initial light output, so fewer lamp replacements are needed versus standard halogen or incandescent light sources. It features an 82 CRI and is available in both 2700K and 3000K, attributes that allow it to provide crisp, halogen-like color.

Neither of the new LED lamps contains lead or mercury. Both are RoHS compliant.YAHAM is one of the world’s largest LED systems companies. the LED is a key to its growing popularity

The LEDtronics LED48T8 tubes comply with RoHS—the lead-free and mercury-free directive, as well as the CE safety assurance. They emit no infrared or ultraviolet radiation, and effectively reduce light pollution, being compatible with the international “dark skies” initiative.Founded in 1983, LEDtronics leads where others only follow when it comes to designing, manufacturing and packaging state-of-the-art LEDs to meet the world’s constantly changing lighting needs. Our inventive product line encompasses an array of direct incandescent lamp replacement Based LEDs, low-cost snap-in and relampable Panel Mount LEDs, high intensity sunlight-visible Discrete LEDs, PCB LEDs circuit board status indicators, surface mount diodes SMT LEDs, full-spectrum rainbow RGB LEDs and Infra-Red (IR) LEDs.

Several trends have boosted the popularity of these electronic lights, according to automotive engineers. A few LED products now offer 50 lumens/W – in some cases as much as 100 – whereas many products a few years ago offered less than five. Additionally, electric vehicles and hybrids need power-efficient lighting, which boosts the appeal of LEDs. Meanwhile, the cost of LEDs has gradually dropped over the last five years.Less than 2 percent of headlights are estimated to use LED technology today. But suppliers say that more than 80 percent of Asian cars use LED-based CHMSLs. Similarly, more than 70 percent of European cars and about half of North American cars are employing LED-based CHMSLs. On the exterior of the vehicle, LEDs are also used in daytime running lamps and parking lights, as well as the high- and low-beam headlights.

Tier-one suppliers say the design flexibility of the LED is a key to its growing popularity. LED packages can be altered to incorporate different numbers of chips, as well as different shapes and sizes. Automakers such as Cadillac, for example, have used that flexibility to create unusually shaped CHMSLs and tail lamps. In that sense, LEDs are helping automakers create greater brand awareness, in the interior, as well as the car's exterior. yaham, for example, has rolled out LEDs of various colors – including ice blue, blue lagoon, sky blue and blue green – which enable automakers to tune the interior color to match their brand. In an even bolder step, Ford is employing the technology in MyColor, a system that allows drivers to change the interior colors to match their moods.

Future Lighting Solutions is a provider of LED lighting components

Future Lighting Solutions supplied the LUXEON LEDs from Philips Lumileds as well as tools and services to help ensure color uniformity in the LEDs themselves. Proprietary Future tools were used to calculate the achievable chromaticity coordinates and thereby determine which color bins were required to produce the required color values. Future’s binning program then ensured that every balloon would be illuminated by LEDs from the same bin of each color in Future’s managed inventory.

The LED modules were designed and manufactured by MAL Effekt, a German-based Future Lighting Solutions Integration Network Member, and mounted on aluminum tubes inserted into each balloon. MAL Effekt also developed a custom DMX512 Power module that was used drive the LEDs, generate the desired colors, and control both color point and brightness via pulse width modulation (PWM).

MAZeT GmbH, another Future Lighting Solutions partner, supplied color sensors that monitored the color produced by the RGB modules and sent the information from a central DMX512 control panel to a custom MAZeT electronic for any necessary adjustments to ensure the homogeneity of color tones from balloon to balloon. The JENCOLOR color sensors were developed by MAZeT and manufactured by JENOPTIK.Future Lighting Solutions is a provider of LED lighting components and support services for solid-state lighting products and installations, including engineering expertise, concept development, full system solutions and online tools that accelerate quality application development.
