Installation was completed just in time for last Christmas

We tried a Selador fixture and discovered it did a great job of meeting the design parameters. The decrease in complexity was also a benefit to the church to keep maintenance requirements minimal”, said Howard Case, the church's capital projects manager. And due to Selador's unique seven-color LED design, the fixtures were able to match the color temperature of existing lighting. The Selador units provide a wide range of spread lenses to meet the designer's needs. We ended up with one two-foot unit per column and rib with two high-power units at the spring points of the proscenium arch. ETC’s Unison? architectural dimming with LCD control panels provides centralized control over the lighting system and offers the ability to easily expand the system in the future.”

Installation was completed just in time for last Christmas, when the new architectural lighting enhancements would be revealed for the first time. Case describes the moment: “We created looks for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which incorporated red and green. The reaction of people when they walked into the church, where the dome over the sanctuary and all of the upper pilasters were lit for the first time (and not just lit, but with Christmas colors) was pretty amazing. The Q-200 can last 30,000~50,000 hours comparing with around 5,000 hours for conventional desk lights. It is specifically designed to enhance learning and concentration capability of the users by applying lab-proven color temperatures of LED for each area of subjects they study such as science and liberal arts.

With simple touch of control panel, users can easily switch color temperature at users’ preference. Moreover it gives users anti-glaring lighting circumstance by adopting advanced optical lens system. It also gives more illuminance of 1400 lux comparing with 900 lux of conventional desk light consuming only 10 watt of power consumption. With adjustable 4-way angle function, it can give the most efficient light distribution for users.

LED's long lifetime performance requires careful design

LEDs are inherently durable and long-lasting components. However, achieving the LED's long lifetime performance requires careful design and testing of the electronic power and control systems and the thermal network. The extensive characterization and reliability testing that OptoElectronix incorporates into every product is the result of its extensive experience in LED and semiconductor technology product development and manufacturing.OptoElectronix estimates that the solid-state lighting (SSL) light engine market, which includes the LEDs, thermal network, power driver circuitry, and optics -- all incorporated into one module -- will be approximately $5.516 billion in 2012.

The application circuit with BCR 450 has low component count and is free of inductors, capacitors and free-wheeling diode resulting in a very small PCB space requirement. This includes the elimination of electrolytic capacitors which limit the lifetime of switch-mode driver solutions. Infineon also implemented an effective thermal shut down feature and over-voltage as well as over-current protection into the device.

Additionally, the BCR 450 with its output current precision varying only +/-10 percent over the entire operating temperature range strongly supports the homogenous light output requirement for LED lighting fixtures. The world’s largest semiconductor maker has undergone a worst profit drop in seven years in the global recession. Chang said that the company could start out first purchasing a small company, and use that as a nucleus for growth. The company is considering buying companies in solar and LED sections. Chang didn’t identify any acquisition targets or specify investment amounts.

the low profile laydown style

The LED Vantage ?, contains sophisticated processors and regulators to ensure that the color and power of the light remains consistent, according to the company. The LED Vantage is custom made to fit inside of any showcase and is secured to the case using Econo-Lite’s patented spring loaded technology which allows installation in just a few minutes.

The new Genesis II LED Tail lights are unique due to their oval board shape which features 120 second generation Genesis LEDs, according to the company. The unique shape allows the board to be set deep inside the reflector to give the maximum light output. The Lights are avaliable in mutiple models including a smoked or red lens as well as the stock squareback style or the low profile laydown style.

The company also offers the option of a black reflecter as opposed to a chrome reflecter on the smoked laydown models. This feature provides a blacked out effect that looks more natural, especially on black and silver bikes, than a stock taill light does.

The new Genesis? II LED product line is not limited to Harley Davidsons?, it will also include Metric, Sportbike and Goldwing? motorcycle products. These units have a suggested retail price of $139.95 and $149.95 depending on the model.

Evluma developed the new wide optic version of the 40W Clearlight as a companion to its existing narrow optic, or lambertian luminaire. Both luminaries are designed for use in 50-175W Mercury Vapor (MV), or 70-150W High Pressure Sodium (HPS) mogul base, dusk-till-dawn fixtures. With peak intensity vertical angle of 0o, the narrow optic Clearlight is recommended for areas over doorways or loading docks where more light is required directly under the fixture. The wide optic is recommended for parking lots and roadways, anywhere lighting design dictates an even wash of light, says the company.

The Clearlight contains no mercury, and is dark-sky friendly with full cut off; the highest percentage of lamp lumens falling in the 0o-60o zone for both models. With an overall projected life-time well beyond an L70 of 70,000 hours, the Clearlight requires very little maintenance compared to legacy HPS and MV, according to the company. Evluma distributors are currently taking orders for the new Clearlight 40W Wide Optic LED luminaries with stock available mid-August, 2009.

the LED is a key to its growing popularity

The LEDtronics LED48T8 tubes comply with RoHS—the lead-free and mercury-free directive, as well as the CE safety assurance. They emit no infrared or ultraviolet radiation, and effectively reduce light pollution, being compatible with the international “dark skies” initiative.Founded in 1983, LEDtronics leads where others only follow when it comes to designing, manufacturing and packaging state-of-the-art LEDs to meet the world’s constantly changing lighting needs. Our inventive product line encompasses an array of direct incandescent lamp replacement Based LEDs, low-cost snap-in and relampable Panel Mount LEDs, high intensity sunlight-visible Discrete LEDs, PCB LEDs circuit board status indicators, surface mount diodes SMT LEDs, full-spectrum rainbow RGB LEDs and Infra-Red (IR) LEDs.

Several trends have boosted the popularity of these electronic lights, according to automotive engineers. A few LED products now offer 50 lumens/W – in some cases as much as 100 – whereas many products a few years ago offered less than five. Additionally, electric vehicles and hybrids need power-efficient lighting, which boosts the appeal of LEDs. Meanwhile, the cost of LEDs has gradually dropped over the last five years.Less than 2 percent of headlights are estimated to use LED technology today. But suppliers say that more than 80 percent of Asian cars use LED-based CHMSLs. Similarly, more than 70 percent of European cars and about half of North American cars are employing LED-based CHMSLs. On the exterior of the vehicle, LEDs are also used in daytime running lamps and parking lights, as well as the high- and low-beam headlights.

Tier-one suppliers say the design flexibility of the LED is a key to its growing popularity. LED packages can be altered to incorporate different numbers of chips, as well as different shapes and sizes. Automakers such as Cadillac, for example, have used that flexibility to create unusually shaped CHMSLs and tail lamps. In that sense, LEDs are helping automakers create greater brand awareness, in the interior, as well as the car's exterior. yaham, for example, has rolled out LEDs of various colors – including ice blue, blue lagoon, sky blue and blue green – which enable automakers to tune the interior color to match their brand. In an even bolder step, Ford is employing the technology in MyColor, a system that allows drivers to change the interior colors to match their moods.

Future Lighting Solutions is a provider of LED lighting components

Future Lighting Solutions supplied the LUXEON LEDs from Philips Lumileds as well as tools and services to help ensure color uniformity in the LEDs themselves. Proprietary Future tools were used to calculate the achievable chromaticity coordinates and thereby determine which color bins were required to produce the required color values. Future’s binning program then ensured that every balloon would be illuminated by LEDs from the same bin of each color in Future’s managed inventory.

The LED modules were designed and manufactured by MAL Effekt, a German-based Future Lighting Solutions Integration Network Member, and mounted on aluminum tubes inserted into each balloon. MAL Effekt also developed a custom DMX512 Power module that was used drive the LEDs, generate the desired colors, and control both color point and brightness via pulse width modulation (PWM).

MAZeT GmbH, another Future Lighting Solutions partner, supplied color sensors that monitored the color produced by the RGB modules and sent the information from a central DMX512 control panel to a custom MAZeT electronic for any necessary adjustments to ensure the homogeneity of color tones from balloon to balloon. The JENCOLOR color sensors were developed by MAZeT and manufactured by JENOPTIK.Future Lighting Solutions is a provider of LED lighting components and support services for solid-state lighting products and installations, including engineering expertise, concept development, full system solutions and online tools that accelerate quality application development. Holder of extensive intellectual property and over 150 issued and pending worldwide patents for big LED technology, Luminus Devices headquarters is located in Billerica, MA with domestic manufacturing also in Billerica and Woburn, MA, and global manufacturing in Taiwan and Thailand.

The new range uses a new design to ensure that high directional light levels are produced from a small array of LEDs consuming tiny amounts of electrical power, according to the company. For example a newly launched 7 Watt Megaman LED Reflector produces the light equivalent of a traditional 35 Watt halogen spotlight. These lamps also have a rated life of around 20,000 hours, far exceeding both conventional (incandescent) and halogen lamps.Based on over 10 years of research and development, these ground-breaking lamps are a direct one-for-one replacement for halogen spots in terms of both colour temperature and intensity, but with energy savings of up to 80%. The new range looks set to become a benchmark for interior and lighting designers, as it represents a significant leap forward in current LED lamp performance.
