Additionally, the educational program, which started two days before the trade show floor opened with the Daylighting and LIGHTFAIR Institutes, offered the largest, most diverse courses and seminars to date with more than 220 hours of programming over five days. This year, 136 industry experts presented 75 sessions, addressing topics that covered lighting fundamentals, software, applications, controls and solutions, as well as design innovation, sustainability, energy-efficiency, product updates and case studies.
LFI's 20th anniversary spotlighted two spectacular keynote luncheons during the Daylighting Institute and the LIGHTFAIR Institute. Ed Begley Jr. spoke on Sunday, May 3 and James Turrell on Monday, May 4. Topics addressed during each luncheon included sustainability and light as art and inspiration. Both luncheons individually attracted a packed house of attendees.
Operating on just 150 watts, the powder-coated aluminum SafeSite? High Bay luminaire is designed to perform for 10+ years in even the most demanding applications - three times as long as traditional HID fixtures, and nearly twice as long as fluorescent solutions. Environmentally, the LED High Bay fixture is completely free of hazardous materials, including mercury, and boasts an annual energy savings that equates to over two metric tons of C02 saved per fixture per year. In a 1,000 fixture retrofit, that’s equivalent to 347 cars off the road and over 19,000 mg of mercury saved annually.
Weighing in at less than fifteen pounds, half the weight of a conventional fixture, the SafeSite? High Bay’s low-profile housing is designed to pair seamlessly with a full range of mounting options offered by Dialight. Combined with a rugged solid-state design that makes the luminaire resistant to shock and vibration, users are presented with a high level of versatility and reliability matched by the luminaire’s superior ease of installation.
