In addition to the opportunity to see the latest lighting technology first-hand, visitors will have direct access to onsite GE experts who will be available to analyze specific lighting application challenges and objectives.
"We are excited to spend another year on the road showcasing GE's new and existing lighting technologies. With the new regulations taking effect, GE is setting higher efficiency standards for every platform, whether for retail customers or consumers at home," says Jim Benson, led linear high bay light of Professional Marketing, GE Lighting. "GE Lighting is offering this tour as a way to engage customers and educate them about the energy-saving, innovative solutions GE has to offer in this new era of lighting."
The NEC in Birmingham has completely refitted its Skywalk with award-winning LED lighting to improve the visitor experience while saving energy and lowering carbon emissions.
The NEC asked experts at lighting specialists MHA Lighting to devise a bespoke solution for the Skywalk that would reduce energy bills whilst improving light quality.
MHA Lighting were also selected to replace the traditional fluorescent lighting in their Concourse and Gallery suites with their unique LED lighting that uses wave guide technology to achieve energy savings of up to 80% with intelligent controls.
As the lights are on continuously software was installed that uses sensors to detect when the Skywalk area is empty and dims the led high bay light to just 10%. With these intelligent controls more than 70% energy savings have been achieved.
